Our journey takes us into the Ribble Valley where tales are told of feudal landlords and past heritage. We travel through the market town of Clitheroe and hear of its culinary delights, onto Chatburn, famous for its speciality ice-creams and drop down into the delightful village of Downham, nestling at the foot of Pendle Hill. This is where the nostalgic film 'Whistle Down the Wind' was set and the television drama 'Born and Bred' was filmed.
We return by the 'Nick of Pendle' road where we have a bird's-eye view of the spectacular landscape of the Ribble Valley and, if we are lucky, Blackpool Tower! Listen to the tales of Pendle Hill, the Sabden treacle mines and the craftsman who made firedogs for the Queen's home at Sandringham.
